The wife and I were granted an opportunity to obtain a property and home that my wife had wanted since she was a young child. Every bank we went to for a VA loan told us we couldn't have more than 10 acres, we couldn't have a barn on the property, we couldn't finance the home period because it was a "farm" and not just a home. We were struggling to make this home ours for reasons we didn't understand why. It didn't feel like the banks were being honest about what the VA would cover.
